According to a statistic given by Wayne Lapierre in his book Guns, Crime, and Freedom, "burglars who chose, either unintentionally or otherwise, to enter an occupied home are TWICE as likely to be shot or killed as they are to be caught, convicted, and imprisoned by America's criminal justice system."
Anti-gun advocates want you to believe that we are adequately protected with the police, military and the justice system. Don't believe that for a second. Yes, they provide an invaluable service, but we have the responsibility to protect our own.
