For those of us who have a license to carry a concealed weapon, we need to remember exactly what the rules are. The license does give you the ability to carry a firearm almost wherever you'd like but it does not give you the ability to fire that firearm whenever you'd like. This is not a video game, this is not a movie and we are not Jack Bauer from 24.
There is a recent article about a man in Oregon who thought he was doing the right thing when he fired his revolver at the tires of a car of fleeing robbers. What he thought was right has landed him in big trouble.
Basically he saw some robbers coming out of an Apple store with some iPhones and decided to save the day by shooting at the tires to detain the bad guys. You just can't do that! The risks here outweigh the possibility of a good outcome by like a million. An innocent person or worse, a child could have been struck by a stray bullet.
Take carrying a firearm seriously. You should know when, where and importantly how to fire your gun before you even start carrying it. Carrying a concealed weapon in Idaho Falls and doing it with the knowledge, skills and attitudes necessary for safe carry should be your top priority. When we carry, we become a different person, we are now in a different class. We become the protector and the preventer of certain things. We must know what they are!
